In order to improve the performance of carbide moulds, many manufacturers will carry out appropriate processing of their carbide moulds, what should I pay attention to when processing carbide moulds? How do you reduce machining defects in carbide tooling?
Reasonable choice and dressing grinding wheel, when processing carbide moulds, priority is given to the use of organic binder diamond grinding wheel, organic binder grinding wheel self-grinding good, grinding out of the workpiece roughness up to Ra0.2μm.
Reasonable use of cooling and lubricating fluids to play the three major roles of cooling, washing and lubrication to keep the cooling and lubrication clean, thereby controlling the grinding heat within the permissible range to prevent thermal deformation of the workpiece.
Electrolytic grinding is used to improve the accuracy and surface quality of carbide moulds. The wear of the grinding wheel is small, for example, when grinding cemented carbide, the wear of silicon carbide grinding wheel is about 400% to 600% of the weight of the cemented carbide ground off, when using electrolytic grinding, the wear of the grinding wheel is only 50% to 100% of the amount of cemented carbide ground off.
The grinding amount should be chosen reasonably, and a fine grinding method with a small radial feed or even fine grinding should be used. If the radial feed and grinding wheel speed are properly reduced and the axial feed is increased, the contact area between the grinding wheel and the workpiece is reduced and the heat dissipation conditions are improved, thus effectively controlling the increase of the surface temperature.
In many cases, the machining of carbide moulds will also reflect the defects of the machining, resulting in a decline in the performance of the moulds, so it is also important to choose a factory with good technical level, experience and perfect facilities for machining carbide moulds.
